A DATED BLUE AND WHITE 'PHOENIX TAIL' VASE
DATED KANGXI 46TH YEAR, CORRESPONDING TO 1707, AND OF THE PERIOD.
The vase is painted on one side of the baluster body with a panel enclosing an inscription and the date. It is further decorated on both the body and the neck with four quatrefoil panels each containing a character for rong hua fu gui (wealth and honour), surrounded by coin-shaped motifs, clouds and stylised flowerheads, all reserved on a 'fish-roe' ground.
