SONG DYNASTY (960-1279)
The cup is potted with deep rounded sides, moulded as a basket with short straight mouth. It is covered overall with a pale glaze of faint greenish tone, and the base has three spur marks.
3¾ in. (9.5 cm.) wide.

Compare the Xingyao cup of the same form found at Qinghexian, illustrated in the Kempe Collection, catalogue no. 354; another in the Princessehof Museum, Leeuwarden, illustrated in the Museum Bulletin, 1963, pl. 2; and one from the Gure Collection included in the Oriental Ceramic Society Exhibition, 'The Arts of the T'ang Dynasty', 1955, catalogue no. 227.
