A CORAL-GROUND REVERSE-DECORATED 'LOTUS' BOWL
DAOGUANG UNDERGLAZE-BLUE SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
The bowl is decorated to the exterior with stylised lotus blooms and flowerheads borne on scrolling leafy tendrils, all reserved on a rich coral ground. The interior is glazed white.
5 1/8 in. (13 cm.) diam.
Provenance
The bowl was acquired in the early 20th century by the aunt of the current owner, whom inherited it in 1993.
