A FAMILLE ROSE MOULDED SCEPTRE, RUYI
19TH CENTURY
The large ruyi head terminal, the rectangular mid-section, and the end terminal are decorated in openwork to depict the Eight Daoist Emblems amidst scrolling clouds, surrounded by colourful floral scrolls set against a lime-green ground. The shaft is delicately enamelled with immortals and attendants at various leisurely pursuits. The sides of the sceptre are decorated in gilt with geometric designs.
