The figure of the ornamental cockerel before the fountain recurs in a fragment of a work by Boel in the Stadtmuseum, Kassel (inv. no. 163) and again, together with the cockerel in the left foreground and the peacock, all in reverse, in a painting exhibited at the City Art Gallery, Belfast, Pictures from Ulster Houses, 1961, no. 121, lent by Earl Castle Stewart.
