Der Zürcher Kunstsammler und Mäzen Alfred Ruetschi ermöglichte im Jahre 1927 Augusto Giacometti eine längere Reise in den Norden über München und Berlin nach Oslo, Kopenhagen, Hamburg und Amsterdam. Auf dieser Reise schuf Augusto Giacometti mehrere Werke, die, wie in unserem Pastell, die Lichtstimmung in intimen Hotelzimmern zum Thema haben.
Das Werk ist im Schweizerischen Institut für Kunstwissenschaft, Zürich, unter der Nr. 33'994 registriert.
The Zurich art collector and patron Alfred Ruetschi enabled Augusto Giacometti in 1927 to make an extended trip to the north through Munich and Berlin to Oslo, Copenhagen, Hamburg and Amsterdam. On this trip the artist created several works that, as in our pastel, have the light ambiance of intimate hotel rooms as their subject.
The work is registered as no. 33'994 with the Swiss Institute for Art Research, Zurich.
