AN ARCHAIC RITUAL BRONZE WINE VESSEL, JUE
LATE SHANG DYNASTY (12TH-11TH CENTURY BC)
The 'U'-shaped body is supported on three blade-form legs and is cast in low relief with a broad central leiwen ground frieze and two taotie masks, one centred on a vertical flange and the other on a pictogram within an oval cartouche below the curved handle.
