TWO SIMILAR CONICAL BOWLS, ONE BLUE AND WHITE, ONE DOUCAI
17TH CENTURY
The two bowls are each slightly flared and their exteriors are similarly decorated with a continuous scene depicting two scholars, one seated and one recumbent, and an attendant holding a stack of books, all in a fenced garden amongst rocks and plantain. The interiors with an apocryphal Yongle four-character seal mark surrounded by two bands of scattered flower heads on a tightly swirled ground.
