A YELLOW-GROUND SILK BROCADE YARDAGE
19TH CENTURY
Woven in multicoloured silks and gilt thread, depicting pairs of elephants bearing a vessel filled with three hook swords, gou and a chime, qing, placed upon a saddle depicting the rebus ping shen san ji translating "May you suddenly receive three successive promotions". The rug below is decorated with waves and bats. The design is interspersed with large lotus scrolls.
