A LARGE FAMILLE ROSE AND GILT 'DRAGON AND PHOENIX' VASE
GUANGXU PERIOD (1875-1908)
It has twin pierced dragon handles and is decorated with a brightly coloured phoenix and iron-red five-clawed dragon pursuing the flaming pearl amidst cloud and fire scrolls and above crashing waves. The neck and shoulders are decorated with various bands including birds perched on branches of prunus blossom and peony. The base is marked Da Qing Qianlong nian zhi.
