FOUR JADE CARVINGS
SHANG DYNASTY (c. 1600-1100 BC) AND LATER
The first is a celadon and russet jade pendant of irregular rectangular form, decorated with incised double lines. The second is an incised grey jade rectangular plaque, surmounted by a mythical beast. The third is a small celadon and russet jade bi disc, decorated with incised C-scrolls and geometric designs. The fourth is a futher jade bi disc, with incised qilin to one side and archaic script to the reverse, the stone is of a creamy tone with darker inclusions.

From a Private East Asian Collector (d. 1994).
The first: acquired in August 1974 in Hong Kong from a private collector.
The second: acquired in 1991 in Hong Kong from a private collector.
The third: acquired in 1990 in Hong Kong from a private collector.
The fourth: acquired in 1973 in Hong Kong from a private collector.
