FOUR JADE SWORD FITTINGS
WARRING STATES PERIOD (475-221 BC) AND MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The first is a grey and celadon jade scabbard chape of lenticular section, which is carved to both sides with angular scrolls. The second is a celadon and russet sword guard, with one side carved with a sinuous chilong, the other with a taotie mask. The third is a russet jade sword slide, decorated to the top with a double line. The fourth is a further sword slide decorated with scrolling clouds, the stone is of a pale celadon tone with russet inclusions.
