Three generations named Morimichi with the title Suruga no kami worked during the 17th century, the first in Mino during the Keicho era (1596 - 1615) , the second in Kyoto, and the third in Owari province. Other related smiths were titled Kaga no kami and Musashi no kami. All three and other smiths worked at times in Owari, suggesting some degree of favour from the lords of that province, the Tokugawa branch family.
