Momoyama period (16th century)
Of circular form, decorated in hiramaki-e and inlaid with mother-in-pearl on a nashiji ground, with a rudder and paddles among waves, the interior with clumps of autumn plants to the cover and the bottom, fitted box with the inscription of provenance by a previous owner dated 1808
