'GIRAFE', A PATINATED BRONZE SCULPTURE BY FRANÇOIS POMPON, DESIGNED IN 1906 AND MODIFIED IN 1929, CAST BEFORE 1950
There are only three recorded examples that were produced during the artist's lifetime - two by Hébrard, one by Valsuani. The present example is from the very first edition of only five or six examples that was executed after the artist's death in 1933.

On ne connait que trois girafes exécutées du vivant de l'artiste : deux par Hébrard et une par Valsuani. L'exemplaire que nous présentons ici fait partie de la toute première édition réalisée après la mort de Pompon en 1933, dont on ne rescence que cinq ou six exemplaires
