CIRCA EARLY 5TH CENTURY B.C.
Each depicting the struggle between Aplu and Hercle for the Delphic tripod, both holding the rim of the basin, Aplu to the right, looking back, a bow in his left hand, Hercle to the left, holding his club in his right hand, each wearing a short chiton with a fringed hem, a band of tongues below the groundline, supported on volutes, a lion paw below; together with an Etruscan bronze cista handle, circa late 4th-early 3rd century B.C., in the form of a nude youth, his body arched into a backbend, the feet and left hand perforated and now pinned to a sheet bronze disk with a petal border
