FROM THE COLLECTION OF MR SHEN DACHENG
Mr Shen Dacheng, to whom the paintings were dedicated, was born in 1933 and graduated from the training course for Taiwan police cadres at the Central Police College in mainland China. He went to Taiwan in October 1945, and on arrival at Jilong Harbour, he went to the Government House to accept the appointment as Chief Magistrate of Beimen county (now Xinyin). Afterwards he worked as a senior officer at police stations in many other counties, including Tainan, Zhushan and Xinzhu, where he retired as Deputy Commissioner.
