PROPERTY OF A LADY
Dr. Wang Bosheng came from a well-educated family. His grandfather was a scholar in the Qing Imperial Academy and his father was educated in Japan and was a legislator in Taiwan. While his mother was a delegate of the National Congress, his wife Lin Weijun graduated from Beijing University and was a university professor and writer.
In the 1970s, Zhang Daqian moved to Carmel and became acquainted with Dr. Wang. They lived close to each other and so they met very frequently and talked of many things. Zhang Daqian found Dr. Wang knowledgeable about the history of China and hence, was very fond of him. Dr. Wang and his wife were kind to Zhang and his family and helped them often, especially communicate in English.
Throughout the years, Dr. Wang never asked for a painting from Zhang Daqian, and they highly respected one another.
