L'art toma est essentiellement connu à travers leurs masques landaï et par quelques statuettes anthropomorphes. Le masque de l'ancienne collection Brill présente quant à lui un visage humain, inscrit dans un ovale tronqué, dont certains traits, le bec et la crête sagittale, évoquent une tête d'oiseau. Il se distingue par sa grande rareté, son ancienneté et par la superbe qualité d'exécution.
