CHINE, DYNASTIE QING, FIN DE L'EPOQUE KANGXI (1662-1722)
De forme balustre, il est orné sur la panse d'une scène représentant une trinité daoïste (Sanxing) et un grand pin tortueux poussant auprès d'un rocher. Shou Xing (ou Shoulao), le dieu de la Longévité est figuré sous les traits d'un vieillard, tenant un bâton duquel pend un manuscrit, son autre main posée sur la tête d'un enfant. Deux autres jeunes garçons, l'un tenant une pêche, l'autre un sceptre se tiennent à côté de Fu Xing, le dieu du Bonheur et Lu Xing, le dieu de la Prospérité qui tient un sceptre ruyi. Une chauve-souris survole la scène. L'épaulement est rehaussé de cartouches à décor d'objets mobiliers, réservés sur un fond lentillé. Le col est agrémenté de diverses frises de ruyi, motifs géométriques et caractères shou. Une frise de feuilles tourne autour du pied ; petit accident au col.

On this vase, the Sanxing theme with the Three Star Gods of Daoism form the main subject-matter: Shou Xing (Shou Lao), Fu Xing and Lu Xing, representing longevity, happiness and emolument respectively. Each deity is shown with his own attribute, which are also auspicious symbols in their own right. Shou Lao, the oldest of the three Star Gods, is characteristically shown with a staff and a peach of longevity (or next to a young boy holding it in that case). Fu Xing is usually depicted surrounded by little boys and Lu Xing, holding a scroll of law or a ruyi scepter.
