A CARVED AMBER FIGURE OF A SEATED GUANYIN
EARLY QING DYNASTY, 17TH/18TH CENTURY
The amber is finely modelled as a Guanyin seated beside an incense burner, wearing long robes falling in thick folds, with one hand holding a scroll and the other resting upon her raised knee, her face with a serene expression. The material is of a reddish brown tone suffused with a dense network of crackles, with concentrated areas of honey colour.
3 7/8 in. (7.3 cm.) high, stand
