Each bowl has deep rounded sides that rise to a slightly everted rim and is decorated in delicate enamels on the exterior with a continuous scene depicting a white, a grey and a spotted ram below a flowering tree, looking up to the sun amongst clouds. The interior of each bowl is finely painted in underglaze-blue with a central medallion enclosing a flower basket within double-line borders and beneath flowering branches, auspicious objects and clusters of lingzhi fungus.
