Lot Essay

The stamps on these chairs indicate that they were at one time in the Assemblée Nationale (ASS NAT), the French legislative body established at the dawn of the Revolution by the Tiers Etat. The PLS DES stamp is likely for the Palais des Tuileries and the R 33(?) possibly for the Château de Rambouillet during the Empire period.
