CERETTO
Ceretto is known for its masterful approach to terroir driven expession of varietal character with purity and elegance. Ceretto produces wines from four wine estates: Bricco Rocche, Bricco Asilli, Monsordo Bernardina, and I Vignaioli Santo Stefano.
Founded by Riccardo Ceretto in the late '30s, the next generation of Cerettos found a sorry state of Italian wine making. It took Bruno and Marcello Ceretto, much later, to revamp the winery's business and winemaking practices to the place they are today.
Their wine production covers seven seperate estates, the first established being Bricco Asili. These 8.5 ha are in the Barbaresco communes of Bricco Asili, Bernardot and Faset, and a cru is made from each. There is also Azienda Bricco Rocche, making Brunate and Prap/go in most vintages and the rare Bricco Rocche in the top vintages.
For the purposes of this catalog, wines are listed by their cru, and the producer only as "Ceretto." In other words, Bricco Rocche (the rarest and most desirable) as well as Brunate and Prapò all come from Azienda Bricco Rocche, and Bricco Asili, Bernardot and Faset all come from Azienda Bricco Asili.
