A RARE PALE CELADON JADE SCROLL-SHAPED TABLE SCREEN
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
Of an open scroll form, the front side is finely carved in high relief with two branches of prunus and chrysanthemum, the openwork chrysanthemum head raised to rest on the scroll head as if emerging out of the paper. The reverse is carved with lotus flowers and leaves, the scroll edge incised with prunus flower heads against a ground of cracked ice pattern. The stone is of a greenish white tone with white suffusions.
