A FINE DOUCAI 'LOTUS' BOWL
DAOGUANG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
The rounded sides of the bowl are delicately painted in underglaze blue and enamelled in the doucai technique with three double-lotus sprays issuing leafy tendrils. The interior is decorated with a medallion enclosing a single lotus stalk, the petals picked out in iron-red.
4 7/8 in. (12.4 cm.) diam.
