A WHITE JADE 'CAT AND BUTTERFLY' GROUP
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The rounded stone is carved as a recumbent cat crouching on a plantain leaf, its tail to one side, and a butterfly resting on its hind leg. The stone has a pale celadon tinge with slight faint russet veining.
2 1/4 in. (5.6 cm.) long, wood stand, Japanese wood box
