INDIA, 19TH CENTURY
Comprising a glove box, a sewing box and a jewellery box, each with applied openwork ivory panels to their hinged lids and sides; the glove box, veneered with foiled tortoiseshell panels decorated with mythical beings; the sewing box's top panel bordered with floriate tendrils depicting a seated fluting Krishna with Rada, the upper tray's inner compartments fitted to store implements, the larger accomodating six reels with ivory and mother-of-pearl stoppers; the jewel and watch box with intricate palmettes, its rounded lid opening to reveal a stand for a pocket watch, in very good condition
The sewing box 4 1/8 x 9½ x 7½in. (10.5 x 24.2 x 19cm.)
