Lot Essay

John Parish White (1855-1917), took over the Pyghtle Works in Bedford in 1896, producing an extensive range of garden ornaments in lead, marble, bronze, stone and terracotta. These urns still featured in White's 1935 catalogue lot is listed as 'Vase No.485' but included a fluted domed cover. The firm ceased trading in 1960-61.
