Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1954 and its subsequent sale on April 5th of the following year.

Patek Philippe produced the reference 1578 from 1943 until approximately 1965. The model was made in yellow, white and pink gold with both subsidiary seconds and center seconds like the present watch. The center seconds model was produced in two series. The first has the caliber 12 SCI and the second has the caliber 27SC.
