Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with Breguet numerals in 1951 and its subsequent sale on April 17th of the same year.

Reference 2457 replaced Reference 96 and some transitional watches are stamped with both reference numbers on the case.

According to our research, the present watch is the only known example with Breguet numerals that was retailed by Tiffany & Co.

Similar examples are illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by M. Huber & A. Banbery, 1998 edition on pages 173-174 and 182-183.
