HERALDRY. Manuscript armorial, early 17th Century, approximately 468 blazoned arms of some English kings from Arthur and Brutus to James I, and the nobility and gentry of England, Wales and Scotland (in part apparently drawing on a model of c.1550), contemporary hand-colouring, labels in a mixture of English, French and Dutch, 31 leaves, folio (304 x 195mm), a few mounted up from smaller leaves (a few arms erased), 18th-century mottled calf. Provenance: Earl of Hopetoun; Lom family (armorial bookplates).
