THE SECOND PHASE OF THE ARAB REVOLT AS SEEN THROUGH THE CAMERA OF AN UNKNOWN BRITISH SOLDIER SERVING IN PALESTINE. A fascinating and at times harrowing glimpse of Palestine during the second phase of the Arab Revolt, with images (some titled beneath the photograph on the album page) taken between 1938 and 1939. These include shots of: a derailed train, the effects of land mines, an inspection by Lord Gort, British Army patrols, an 'Arab bandit leader', the 'Jaffa riots'; and various photographs recording scenes at Hebron and Ramallah. In addition, there are a few more mundane scenes such as 'Greek Christmas at Bethlehem' and various photographs of soldiers at their ease. With a 'wanted poster' from 1937 offering a substantial reward for information leading to the apprehension of the people responsible for the death of two British men at Nazareth.
