A group of photographic views of Tbilisi, including a folding panorama, and Georgian monuments and architecture, Tbilisi, ca. 1890s. 27 albumen prints on 21 mounts, some with captions in Cyrillic in the negative, each c. 125-215 x c. 210-280mm on card mounts 330 x 435mm, with manuscript captions in German in the mount; together with one panorama comprising 4 albumen prints joined and backed on linen, together 240 x 1390mm. (Prints with occasional light fading, the mounts with some light wear and light soiling near the edges, one print with one corner clipped, the panorama with light wear and small areas of light discolouration.) Provenance: Walter Stechow (1852-1927, pioneering radiologist, army doctor, and physician to Kaiser Wilhelm II; by repute).
