An 18ct. gold tourbillon keyless open face pocket watch, by Charles Frodsham
The silvered dial with black Roman numerals, two subsidiary dials for seconds and up and down and blued steel spade hands, the Nicole Nielsen 3/4 plate keyless double roller lever escapment with raised barrel fusee and Guillaume balance by North & Sons, under glazed dome, the case with turning pendant, raised push piece and five knuckle joint hinge, hallmarked London 1918 and stamped HMF for Harrison Mill Frodsham, case diameter 58mm
Accompanied by a photocopy page taken from The Story of Frodsham, Antiquarian Horology, London, p. 279, indicating the Kew certificate no. 17202 which states the watch was tested in April 1918 and was rated 91.7
The dial signed Chas. Frodsham 09780. AD. F msz., the movement signed Chas. Frodsham, By Appointment to the King, 27 South Molton Street, London with two Royal Warrants, Kew certificate number 17202 and tourbillon no. 12178, AD. F msz
