(H2, H3 and I2 with marginal tears with early repairs, tear on H2 touching a few letters, some staining.) 18th-century calf, gilt spine, edges speckled (rubbed, corners bumped, joints starting, spine with light chipping). Provenance: M. Voss (early collation note on rear pastedown); Mary Ellen Wood (bookplate on front pastedown); John Slocum (pencil note on flyleaf); acquired from Goodspeed's Book Shop, 1988.

Second edition in Dutch. The text and plates are unchanged from the 1584 Antwerp edition except for a new engraved title by Visscher. Landwehr calls for the engraved title to be present with the engraved title from the 1584 edition on the verso, but Praz does not call for the engraved title to be printed as such; the engraved title from th e1584 edition does not appear on the verso of the engraved title in this copy.
