Battista Piranesi sopra la lettre de M. Mariette;, Parere su l'Architettura and Della Introduzione e del Progresso delle Belle Arte in Europa ne' Tempi antichi (W.-E. 799-814), complete with 16 etchings including vignettes, 1765; all published in Rome, watermarks Fleur-de-Lys in Double Circle (R. 39 or similliar, dated late 1760-90's), with margins, very good condition, the three works bound together in contemporary Italian vellum gilt, as issued

According to a pencil note by Andrew Robison, the present copy is from the first complete edition of these three polemical tracts by Piranesi claiming the superiority of Ancient Roman art over that of Greece, printed in Rome around 1769.
