A COMPOSITE BROADSWORD IN VENETIAN LATE RENAISSANCE STYLE

With broad reprofiled double-edged blade, probably 16th century German, of flattened hexagonal section cut on each face with a broad tapering fuller at the forte and stuck with a mark within the fuller, later iron guard comprising shallow quillon-block and horizontally recurved quillons, well-made grip made of bound black leather strips formed into scrolls, and large flat pommel with central boss on each face, almost certainly 16th century
