With domed skull embossed and pierced to form a mustachioed demon-mask to the front, the rear of the skull pierced with foliage and three large calligraphic panels, the inside of the skull plated at a later date with copper behind the piercings, the rim bordered by engraved ovoidal and circular panels calligraphic panels, some retaining traces of gold-damascened ornament, applied curved horns, central spike of stiff diamond section and plume holders, foliate engraved nasal-bar with later retaining bracket, the principle elements with traces of gold-damascened border-lines, the horns with traces of silver-damascened scrollwork, and long vandyked camail of iron and brass butted rings
