PROBABLY FRENCH, LATE 18TH CENTURY
With slender blade of hollow triangular section with etched ornament at the forte, cast and chased gilt-brass hilt comprising disc-shaped guard with scalloped edge and decorated in low relief with portrait busts, martial trophies and flowering foliage, quillon-block, lobed quillon, knuckle-guard and ovoidal pommel decorated en suite, and wire-bound grip, in black-leather-covered scabbard with gilt-brass mounts punched with with floral ornament
