A NORTH ITALIAN ETCHED MORION
CIRCA 1600
With one-piece almond-shaped skull rising to a short stalk (repaired) and etched with bands involving elements of armour against a blackened punched ground framing a bright droplet-shaped panel each etched with a roundel containing a cross of Maltese type, the base of the skull with a row of later lining-rivets with brass rosette-shaped washers, and brim with turned roped edge rising to a point fore and aft (rear point repaired) etched with foliage against a blackened granular ground (etching worn throughout)
