With 16th century double-edged of flattened diamond section, oblong ricasso incised with border-lines and struck with maker's marks, later iron guard of faceted bars with straight quillons and upper and lower side-rings, later spirally fluted grip bound with copper and steel wire, and 16th century flattened barrel-shaped pommel cut with a panel of diagonal flutes on the outer side, the upper and lower side-rings cut with similar panels of flutes en suite with the pommel
