With double-edged hollow-ground blade of flattened diamond section etched on each face at the forte with foliage, an eagle, Latin inscriptions and a mounted cavalier, and 19th century iron hilt chiselled in bold relief throughout comprising foliate quillon-block with a recumbent stag and a rearing horse respectively on each face, side-ring bearing putti, vertically recurved quillons each with monster-head finial, the stems of the quillons entwined by a snake, the head of which rears up to form the lower half of the knuckle-guard, the pommel is formed as a large bird, its long neck and head forming the upper-half of the knuckle-guard with the open beak holding the head of the snake, and foliate grip inhabited by a unicorn, huntsmen, putti and a centaur
