With swamped iron barrel flaring to form an eliptical muzzle, signed on the short sighting flat, chiselled in low relief at the breech with a horseman in contemporary military attire against a gilt ground, the remainder of the barrel with silver-encrusted rococo ornament including swags of flowers interspersed with gold-inlaid flowers and foliage, and with a silver-encrusted horseman at the muzzle framed by scrolls, a lion-mask, a Medusa-mask and mythical birds, associated rounded lock chiselled in low relief with a hunter and his hound against a gilt ground (rebuilt to snaphaunce), later walnut three-quarter stock, and later mounts embossed with scrollwork, horsemen, animals and birds all against gilt grounds, and later iron belt-hook and iron-tipped ramrod
