IN EARLY 18TH CENTURY POLISH STYLE
With slender octagonal to rounded sighted barrel signed 'ANDRZEI-ZUKJEWSKI-W-PODHORCACH' in gold and with gold-inlaid foliage on the short sighting flat, cylinder formed of three octagonal chambers each with own priming-pan, each chamber (touch-hole not tapped) inlaid with gold foliage and three small silver escutcheons each engraved with a differing male portrait bust, flat bevelled back-action lock chiselled with scrollwork, monster-heads and a huntsman in low relief against a gilt ground, iron trigger-shaped cylinder release catch, brass mounts engraved en suite with the lock including open-fronted trigger-guard and solid side-plate, well figured walnut half-stock, the butt with raised cheek-piece, horn fore-end cap, and iron sling mounts (ramrod lacking)
