A CASED PAIR OF LIÉGEOIS 25-BORE FLINTLOCK OFFICER'S PISTOLS
EARLY 19TH CENTURY
With blued swamped octagonal rifled sighted barrels each with a band of gilt beadwork at the muzzle, engraved 'CANON FORDU' in gilt lettering on the top flat and with gilt scrollwork at the breech, bright tangs each with Empire-style foliate engraving and incorporating a standing rear-sight, bright flat bevelled locks each engraved with a bird on the tail and with raised pan and roller, well figured walnut full stocks with chequered panel to each face of the butt and carved with flutes along the back-edge, set triggers, bright steel mounts engraved en suite with the tangs, and horn-tipped ramrods, in a closed-fitted baize-lined case with some accessories (the pistols full refinished throughout, probably restocked)
