A FINE INDONESIAN IVORY-MOUNTED KRIS
MID- TO LATE 19TH CENTURY
With double-edged waved etched pattern welded blade decorated in low relief with gilt scrollwork, a snake running the length of the blade on each side, silver-gilt collar set with a band of diamonds, faceted ivory grip carved with small sprays of foliage, in original wooden scabbard with figured boat-shaped top and brass-covered stem, the front face embossed with scrollwork and retaining traces of original gilt finish, and set with a central tapering ivory band
