The pierced body with scroll handle, pierced shell thumbpiece and blue glass liner, the cover engraved with a rampant lion crest within a border of flowers and foliate scrolls; also a George III Provincial bun-top pepper, maker's mark I.? possibly for John Babbage or John Boutet, Exeter, 1769; and a pair of Edwardian bun-top kitchen peppers of early Georgian style, mark of Charles Stuart Harris, London, 1904
