This composition relates to a cycle of the months painted by Francesco's brother, Leandro Bassano, a large proportion of which were formerly in the collection of Archduke Leopold Wilhelm of Austria and are now in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna (Die Gemäldegalerie des kunsthistorischen Museums in Wien, Vienna, 1991, pl. 92).
