Patricia Smith, Viscountess Hambleden GCVO (1904-1994) was a Lady of the Bedchamber to Queen Elizabeth (later the Queen Mother) from 1937 to 1994.
The present lot, dated 1953 and with the Royal cypher 'ER' below a closed crown, was almost certainly a gift to Viscountess Hambleden to commemorate the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
